At Biolytic Lab Performance, we believe the best partnerships begin with direct access to the people who build, support, and stand behind the technology. We invite our customers to speak directly with our CEO, accompanied by our in-house chemistry experts, for a personalized oligo synthesis consultation.
When someone reaches out to Biolytic, their first real conversation is with people who understand oligo synthesis. You meet with James Demmitt, our CEO, and our chemistry experts to talk through your workflow and what you are trying to build. These sessions are real conversations where you can ask anything and get direct answers that are backed by over 30 years of oligo synthesis experience.

We meet you where you are, whether you’re completely new to oligo synthesis, or an oligo expert looking to expand on your workflow.
A typical consultation with our team covers topics like:
• Your current workflow
We start by understanding how you’re synthesizing today. Throughput, sequences, modifications, and turnaround expectations. This gives us the context to suggest the right Dr. Oligo configuration or workflow adjustments.
• Instrument selection
Depending on your needs, we compare models like the Dr. Oligo 12, Dr. Oligo 48, Dr. Oligo 192XLc or Dr. Oligo 768XLc. For example, many labs come to us unsure whether they should start with a Dr. Oligo 12 or 48. In these sessions, we look at throughput needs, chemistry requirements, plate or column formats, and growth plans to find the right fit.
• Chemistry guidance and sequence considerations
Many customers come to us to talk through the types of sequences they plan to make. We review their expected sequence lengths, desired modifications, backbone chemistry, and any specialized bases they want to incorporate. From there, we discuss what’s feasible, what limitations to expect, and how different chemistries behave on various Dr. Oligo models. These conversations help determine which instrument makes the most sense for their use case and ensure the system they choose can support the chemistry they need from the very beginning.
• Customization and special project needs
All of our instruments are highly customizable, and a big part of the consultation is understanding exactly what your workflow requires. For groups with specialized needs, we talk through how the system can be configured to support it. This can include modifying bottle configurations, add special add-ons, or choosing between a basic or deluxe model. We also offer custom column formats tailored to specific chemistries or throughput needs. The goal is to make sure the instrument you receive is built to match your project needs.
